Lonnie's Priorities

Lonnie is a current Dexter Township Trustee with a vision for a better community. As Supervisor, he will work tirelessly to preserve our agricultural heritage, protect our natural resources, and create a more sustainable community, as outlined in the recently passed Dexter Township master plan. We need to re-elect Lonnie to the Dexter Township Board because he is the experienced and innovative leader we need to continue moving Dexter Township forward.
PRIORITIES
Preserve our Agricultural Heritage and Protect Our Natural Resources

  • Preservation of the township's agricultural heritage and rural character is a cornerstone of Lonnie's platform.

  • Dexter Township's natural resources are integral to our community, and Lonnie will prioritize their protection.

  • Lonnie's focus on rural character, conservation values, and recreational opportunities will ensure the preservation of Dexter Township's unique identity.

  • With 50% of the Township's acreage consisting of open spaces, preserving these areas is essential for current and future residents seeking a rural lifestyle.

Prioritize Public Safety

  • Lonnie championed the passage of the public safety millages for Fire and Police services without a tax increase, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for essential services.

  • Lonnie has consistently voted to support the Dexter Area Fire Department as they implement comprehensive safety plans tailored to the unique needs of Dexter Township - including using Federal funds for a new off-road vehicle to access our many trails and lakes.

Continue our Progress

Working together Lonnie and the other Township Board members have already accomplished so much, they have:

  • Improved local roads

  • Preserved farmland and open space

  • Worked to improve cell service across the Township

  • Increased transparency and communication using email lists, newsletters, community engagement events, a new website, and regular coffee chats

  • Created and passed the first Township master plan since 2011

  • Used technology to make board meetings more open and accessible

  • Increased broadband access

  • Hosted several successful community clean-up days
