Hi neighbors, my name is Lonnie Scott and I am a Democrat running for Dexter Township Supervisor.

 

I was born and raised in Washtenaw County and my wife, Heather, and I are both proud graduates of Central Michigan University. We are excited to be raising our family here in Dexter Township.

 

I am currently a Dexter Township Trustee and am proud of what my colleagues and I have accomplished for the residents of Dexter Township. From 2013-2023 I served as the Executive Director of one of the largest progressive non-profits in the state, Progress Michigan. During that time I fought for better government transparency, progressive values like paid sick time and increasing the minimum wage, and strong, fully funded public schools. I've also worked in the Michigan legislature for State Representatives Alma Wheeler Smith and Jeff Irwin. I will bring knowledge and expertise in public budgeting and a keen awareness of the importance of listening to constituents.

 

Local government is critically important and as I embark on my campaign for Supervisor I am filled with enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility. I believe in the power of our community, and I am committed to working tirelessly to make our township an even better place for all our residents.
